PR and Media Lead (Creator Economy)

About the role
We are an Australian company building a PR and earned media service for creators. We need a dedicated PR and media lead to own delivery, build our internal playbook, and help us identify which creators are a strong fit for PR support.
This is a hands-on role. You will research outlets, craft story angles, write personalised pitches, secure interviews and mentions, and report results weekly.
Key responsibilities
Build and run our PR process from start to finish (angles, outreach, follow-ups, interview prep, reporting)
Create SOPs, templates, and simple KPI dashboards in Google Sheets
Develop story angles and pitch plans for creators
Build targeted AU, US, and UK media lists without paid databases
Write editor-ready pitches and follow-ups (no mass blasting)
Prepare creator assets such as bios, one-pagers, and press notes
Provide weekly updates and monthly placement reports with links and notes
Maintain strict discretion and privacy standards
Requirements
2+ years in PR or media relations with real examples of placements
Strong English writing, especially short pitches and subject lines
Proven personalised outreach approach (not mass
Strong research skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working with creators and adult-adjacent clients with strict professionalism and discretion
Reliable internet and ability to overlap AEST hours
Nice to have
AU media familiarity
Basic SEO and backlink literacy
GA4 or Search Console familiarity
Success targets (first 90 days)
10 to 15 percent reply rate on tailored pitches
First placement within 30 to 45 days from brief
3 to 6 quality earned hits per month across the active roster (starting with 1 to 3 creators)
Strong weekly reporting and no compliance issues

Part-time to start, with the option to scale up as the roster grows
