QA Automation Engineer (Full-Stack Testing: Next.js & Postgres)

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who can master the flow between our Next.js frontend and PostgreSQL backend. Your mission is to ensure every business use case is bulletproof by writing comprehensive automated integration and end-to-end (E2E) tests that validate the entire lifecycle of a request—from the UI component down to the database row.

What You’ll Do

Full-Stack Use Case Validation: Write automated integration tests for every use case, ensuring that Next.js API routes correctly process data and reflect changes in our PostgreSQL database.
End-to-End Excellence: Build E2E suites that simulate real user behavior in the browser, verifying that the frontend UI stays in sync with backend state.

Database State Verification: Write test scripts that interface directly with PostgreSQL to setup/teardown test data and verify that transactions are persisting correctly.

Next.js Optimization: Work within the Next.js ecosystem to test Server Components, Client Components, and Middleware, ensuring seamless navigation and data fetching.
CI/CD Integration: Automate the execution of these tests within our pipeline to prevent regressions in every pull request.

Your Toolkit

The Frameworks: Deep expertise in Playwright or Cypress—ideally configured specifically for Next.js environments.
The Database: Strong SQL skills; experience validating data in PostgreSQL and managing test database cycles.
The Language: Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js (essential for our Next.js stack).
Integration Tools: Experience testing RESTful APIs and familiarity with ORMs like Prisma or Drizzle is a huge plus.
The Environment: Proficiency with Docker for spinning up localized Postgres instances for isolated testing.
