Overview
We’re hiring a Healthcare Intake Specialist to handle inbound and outbound calls, respond to patient inquiries, and complete intake information accurately. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and a sales/service mindset—you should be comfortable guiding callers to the next step (appointment scheduling, intake completion, eligibility checks). We accept applicants with local healthcare exposure or experience, including clinic/hospital/front desk, health insurance, or any healthcare-related work background.
Key Responsibilities
Answer inbound calls,
Collect and verify intake details (basic demographics, symptoms/concerns, insurance info, eligibility)
Schedule appointments and confirm required documents/instructions
Provide clear, professional explanations of next steps and clinic?? (what to expect, what to prepare)
Follow up on incomplete intakes, missed calls, and appointment reminders
Document all interactions accurately in CRM/EMR tools (or intake trackers)
Escalate urgent concerns appropriately based on guidelines (non-clinical role)
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information responsibly
What We’re Looking For (Basic Requirements)
Strong communication skills (clear English, calm phone presence, professional tone)
Sales + service mindset: confident, persuasive, and able to move calls toward booking/completion
Comfortable with structured scripts, asking follow-up questions, and handling objections
Organized and detail-oriented (accurate data entry and note-taking)
Reliable internet, headset, and a quiet workspace
Accepted Backgrounds (Local healthcare exposure is OK)
We welcome applicants with experience in any of the following:
Clinic/hospital front desk, receptionist, or patient coordinator
Medical records, billing, or insurance verification
Healthcare call center (appointments, triage routing, prior auth support)
Local healthcare setting exposure (assistant roles, nursing-related work, community clinic support, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using EMR/EHR or scheduling tools (any system is fine—training provided)
Familiarity with patient intake workflows and insurance terminology
Experience handling sensitive or emotional patients professionally
