JOB OVERVIEW

I'm launching an online jewelry store and need a full website built from scratch or using a platform like Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom solution. My supplier provides product images, descriptions, and details, but they are not a drop shipping service. The site must integrate with my supplier account via API or similar to automatically place orders when customers buy, ship items to my address for processing, and then allow me to handle final shipping to customers. No inventory will be held long-term; it's a reseller model with automated purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and launch the website (domain registration, hosting if needed, and going live).
Design a modern, user-friendly interface (responsive for mobile/desktop, with high-quality jewelry visuals—clean, elegant theme). Include features like product catalogs, search/filter options, cart, checkout, user accounts, and payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
Import and organize product data (images, descriptions, prices, variants like sizes/materials) from my supplier—automate updates if possible.
Implement automated order integration: When a customer orders and pays on my site, it should securely place the order in my supplier account, apply any discounts/markups, and route shipment to me. I'll then repackage and ship to the customer (integrate with shipping APIs like USPS/UPS for labels/tracking).
Set up essential policies and pages: Privacy policy, terms of service, return/refund policy, shipping info, and cookie consent (use templates but customize for jewelry specifics like warranties or authenticity). Ensure compliance with basic e-commerce laws (e.g., GDPR if international, but focus on US).
Add security features: SSL, secure payments, anti-fraud tools.
Basic SEO setup and analytics integration (e.g., Google Analytics).
Provide training/handover so I can manage the site myself post-launch.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience building e-commerce sites (share portfolio links with similar projects, especially jewelry/fashion or reseller models).
Expertise in platforms like Shopify (preferred for ease), WooCommerce/WordPress, or custom (e.g., React/Node.js if needed).
Strong API integration skills—experience with supplier APIs (e.g., similar to Alibaba, Etsy, or custom wholesale platforms). Must confirm if my supplier's system supports this (I'll provide details).
UI/UX design skills (or ability to collaborate with a designer if you specialize in dev).
Knowledge of payment/shipping APIs and automation tools (e.g., Zapier if simple integrations).
Familiarity with legal/policy setup for online stores (not a lawyer, but able to use compliant templates).
Bonus: Experience with inventory sync, email notifications, or marketing tools like abandoned cart recovery.

Project Details:

Timeline: [e.g., 4-6 weeks]
Budget: [e.g., $X,XXX fixed or hourly—propose based on scope]
Communication: Weekly updates via [e.g., Slack/Email/Zoom].
Must be reliable, with good English communication. Preference for developers in [e.g., US/Europe for time zones].

How to Apply:
