About the Role
We are seeking an experienced contract Software Engineer to develop a web application from the ground up. This is a project-based engagement, ideal for independent professionals who can deliver high-quality results within agreed timelines. You will receive detailed wireframes and functional requirements and will be responsible for turning these into a fully functional, production-ready web application.
This role requires strong technical execution, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating remotely with a U.S.-based team.

Responsibilities

Build a complete web application from scratch based on provided wireframes and requirements
Design and implement clean, scalable, and maintainable front-end and back-end code
Make architectural and technical decisions aligned with best practices
Implement APIs, database schemas, and application logic as required
Ensure application performance, security, and reliability
Provide regular progress updates and clear technical documentation
Participate in testing and quality assurance before final delivery


Required Qualifications

Proven experience building web applications from the ground up
Strong proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar frameworks)
Experience with RESTful APIs and database design (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Solid understanding of software architecture, version control (Git), and deployment workflows
Ability to interpret wireframes and translate them into functional user interfaces
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail


Communication & Collaboration
Comfortable working asynchronously with a U.S.-based team
Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proactive in providing status updates and flagging risks early
Previous experience working with U.S.-based clients is a plus

Type: Gig / Project-based Contract
Duration: Based on project scope and milestones
Payment: Fixed price or milestone-based (to be agreed upon)
Independence: Must be able to work autonomously and deliver on deadlines
