We are hiring a Video Editor and Thumbnail Designer for YouTube and social media content.
This role is for someone who understands what works on social platforms, follows trends, and can create content that drives clicks and retention, not just good-looking videos.
Our content is for a B2B audience.
Output Expected (Monthly / Per Content Cycle)
You will be expected to deliver:
Short-Form Content
20 short videos per wek for:
YouTube Shorts
Instagram Reels
TikTok
Each short must be:
Edited from provided footage, transcripts, or timestamps
Optimised for fast pacing and strong hooks
Thumbnail or cover image included where required
Long-Form Content
1 long-form YouTube video
1 YouTube thumbnail for the long-form video
Video must be fully edited and ready for upload
Video Editing Responsibilities
Short-Form Editing
Create short videos that:
Hook viewers in the first seconds
Are easy to understand
Hold attention until the end
Use:
Jump cuts
Captions
B-roll
Light motion graphics
Adapt editing style for each platform:
TikTok
YouTube Shorts
Instagram Reels
Long-Form Editing
Edit YouTube videos with clear structure and good pacing
Remove mistakes, long pauses, and unnecessary sections
Support retention through:
Clean cuts
Visual variety
Clear storytelling
Thumbnails & Visual Identity
Design thumbnails focused on click-through rate
Thumbnails must:
Be clear on mobile
Use strong visuals, contrast, and emotion
Create curiosity and comparison where appropriate
Follow brand guidelines at all times
Maintain a consistent visual identity across all videos
Ensure all thumbnails and videos look like they belong to the same brand
Performance & Success Metrics
What Success Looks Like
Click-through rate (CTR): 5% or higher
Strong viewer retention, especially:
First 30 seconds of long-form
Full watch-through on short-form
Consistent improvement in:
Watch time
Engagement
Overall video performance
You must edit and design with performance and results in mind.
