About the Role (I am looking for someone who is not already working full time as they need to be available for meetings etc during Australian Business Hours )

We are a small business seeking a reliable, senior bookkeeper to manage our accounts and ensure full compliance with the Australian tax system. We offer some flexibility in how you structure your 15 hours per week; however, you must be available to perform your work and communicate with our team during standard Australian business hours. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys autonomy but understands the necessity of being "online" when the business and our accountant are operating.

Key Responsibilities
GST & BAS Management: End-to-end management of GST coding and Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation.

Accountant Liaison: Work closely with the General manager and our Australian accountant to ensure all data is accurate, reconciled, and ready for tax lodgements.

Daily Accounts: Manage bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll (STP) compliance.

Reporting: Provide clear financial updates to management as required.

Mandatory Selection Criteria
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a bookkeeper specifically for Australian companies.

Accountant Collaboration: Proven experience working directly with Australian accountants to deliver high-quality, audit-ready files.

Tax Knowledge: Expert understanding of Australian GST and BAS requirements.

Communication: Fluent English is essential. You must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.

Availability: While the schedule is flexible, you must be available to work and respond to queries during standard business hours (AEST/AEDT).

Software: Advanced proficiency in Xero

About You
You are a detail-oriented professional who doesn't need to be micro-managed. You have a deep understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and take pride in keeping a "clean" set of books.
