JOB OVERVIEW

AI & Automation Specialist – Roofing, Construction & Public Adjusting
About Us
We're a roofing and general contracting company that also holds a Public Adjuster license in Illinois. That means we do what most contractors can't: when an insurance company lowballs a claim or denies coverage, we fight back on behalf of the homeowner — legally, with evidence, and we usually win.
Our workflow spans the entire process:
Our team does:
Inspect the damage
File and manage the insurance claim
Fight the carrier when they underpay or deny (rebuttals, supplements, appraisals)
Get the claim approved for what it actually costs
Build the roof or complete the repairs
collect payments
Close the job

We use JobNimbus to manage all of it. We need someone who can make that system smarter with automation and AI.
The Role
You'll build AI agents and automations that help our team move faster and catch what humans miss — across both the insurance side and the construction side of our business.
Insurance & Claims Side
File review and analysis

AI that reviews uploaded documents: policies, denial letters, carrier estimates, inspection photos
Extract coverage terms, exclusions, deductibles from policy dec pages
Compare carrier line-item scopes against what the job actually needs
Flag file gaps — missing photos, unsigned documents, incomplete info

Rebuttal and supplement assistance

Draft rebuttals when carriers deny or underpay, pulling relevant building codes and manufacturer specs
Generate supplement requests based on what was missed in original scope
Track carrier response timelines and flag when they've violated Illinois DOI regulations

Carrier communication

Parse inbound emails from adjusters and carriers
Auto-log communication to the right job
Draft response templates based on claim status and carrier

Construction & Production Side
Job management automation

Trigger production workflows when a claim gets approved
Material ordering reminders and checklists based on job scope
Crew scheduling notifications and calendar integration
Status update automations for internal team and homeowner

Documentation and close-out

Photo organization and job documentation
Completion checklists and final walkthrough triggers
Certificate of completion and warranty document generation

Connecting Everything

JobNimbus workflows, custom fields, board automations

Email
parsing and outbound sequences
AI integrations (Claude, OpenAI) for document analysis and drafting
Potential connections: CompanyCam, Xactimate, QuickBooks, Google Workspace, supplier portals

What You'll Actually Do

Shadow our adjusters through the crm and project managers to understand where time gets lost
Design and build AI agents that solve those problems
Build inside JobNimbus: automations, workflows, triggers, custom fields
Integrate external AI to review documents, draft content, extract data
Create systems that enforce our process without requiring babysitting
Document and train the team on what you build
Iterate when things break or don't work as expected

You Need

Experience building AI integrations — LLMs connected to real workflows, not just ChatGPT prompts
API skills — webhooks, REST APIs, authentication, handling responses
Automation platform experience — Zapier, Make, n8n, or native CRM tools
CRM experience — JobNimbus preferred, but deep experience in similar platforms works
Document processing knowledge — feeding PDFs and images to AI, getting structured output back
Builder mentality — you figure out how to make it work

Bonus

Roofing, construction, or insurance industry experience
Familiarity with Xactimate
Prompt engineering — getting consistent, reliable output from LLMs
Python, JavaScript, or scripting ability
OCR and document parsing experience

Why This Job Matters
Most roofing companies take whatever the insurance company offers. We don't. We know what jobs actually cost, we know the building codes, and we know when a carrier is wrong. But fighting takes time — time that could be spent on the next inspection or managing production.
Every system you build here frees up that time. An AI that reviews a file and catches missing documentation before we go to appraisal saves a claim. An automation that kicks off production the ---------- nt approval hits means we're on the roof faster. A rebuttal draft that pulls the right code citations means an adjuster handles more claims without burning out.
You're building the infrastructure that lets a small company punch above its weight against carriers with unlimited resources.
