Shopify Developer & Technical Specialist (Backend + Custom Development)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Shopify expert who can make virtually any change we need—from backend functionality and custom code to performance optimization and advanced feature builds. This role is for someone who understands Shopify at a deep technical level and can execute quickly, cleanly, and reliably.

You will be our go-to person for technical solutions, not just surface-level edits.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and customize the Shopify backend, including products, collections, templates, and settings

Write, edit, and optimize Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Build and customize Shopify sections, blocks, and templates

Implement advanced functionality (custom product options, dynamic personalization, conditional logic, integrations, etc.)

Troubleshoot bugs, errors, and performance issues

Optimize site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall UX

Integrate third-party apps and APIs when needed (and recommend alternatives when custom code is better)

Ensure changes are scalable, clean, and well-documented

Collaborate with marketing and design teams to bring concepts to life

Required Skills & Experience

Expert-level Shopify experience (not just page builders)

Strong proficiency in:

Shopify Liquid

HTML / CSS

JavaScript

Deep understanding of Shopify themes, templates, metafields, and backend architecture

Experience building custom Shopify features beyond default theme capabilities

Ability to confidently say “yes, that’s possible” — and execute it

Strong attention to detail and clean coding practices

Nice to Have (Big Plus)

Experience with Shopify Plus

Knowledge of CRO, UX/UI best practices

Experience with Klaviyo, Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, or custom tracking

Familiarity with personalized or custom-product workflows

Experience optimizing Shopify for scaling brands
