Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online using Dext for document capture
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries, including accruals, amortization, loan adjustments, and year?end clean?up
- Perform bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and correct bookkeeping completed by clients or junior staff
- Prepare working papers and schedules to support financial statements and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Income Tax rules for individuals and corporations
- Manage GST/HST and PST filings, reconciliations, and audit?ready documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding missing information, discrepancies, or required adjustments
Qualifications
- CPA designation (or in final stages)
- Minimum 2–4 years of Canadian public practice experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Income Tax, GST/HST, and PST
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Dext, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing adjusting entries and reconciling complex accounts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
