JOB OVERVIEW

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Video Editor to transform raw footage into compelling stories. You aren't just a "button pusher"—you are a visual storyteller who understands pacing, sound design, and the specific nuances of social media platforms. You will collaborate closely with our videographer and manager to bring concepts to life, often taking the lead on creative direction and storyboarding. We want someone who can turn short-form videos around very quickly.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Collaboration: Meet with the videographer to establish the "look and feel" of projects; translate abstract visions into high-quality visual edits.
Technical Execution: Ingest, organize, and format all media; manage professional-grade editing systems and effects.
Storytelling: Establish a clear narrative arc for every video, ensuring the purpose of the project is felt by the viewer.
Independent Creation: Ability to take a "storyboard style" idea and run with it, or generate original content ideas without constant hand-holding.
Technical Polishing: Improve video/sound quality using advanced software; integrate music, SFX, interviews, and transitions seamlessly.
Platform Optimization: Ensure final exports are perfectly formatted for their specific destination (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.) and client specs.
Pre-Visualization: Create concept boards or visual outlines for complex projects before the heavy editing begins.

Qualifications & Requirements
Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop is non-negotiable.
Creative Instincts: Strong background in filmmaking or videography with a "voice" and the confidence to suggest creative improvements.
Multi-Tasking: Ability to balance multiple projects and milestones simultaneously without dropping the ball.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills to ensure project scope is understood and implemented correctly.
Efficiency: High-speed internet for rapid uploads/downloads and a commitment to quick turnaround times without sacrificing quality.
Detail-Oriented: A perfectionist’s eye for color, sound sync, and frame-accurate cutting.
Autonomy: An independent worker who takes initiative to "get it done" rather than waiting for every instruction.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Film Editing or a related field (preferred) OR a significant portfolio of professional work experience.
Proven experience editing diverse project types (e.g., ads, social clips).
