Position Overview:
I am a New York City–based dance professional seeking a reliable & detail-oriented Virtual Assistant to support the administrative side of my work. My career spans multiple roles, including choreographer, teacher, coach, journalist, & judge for a youth ballet competition.
I recently secured funding to develop a teacher certification program & am hiring for an initial 6-month contract. If the collaboration is successful, there is strong potential for this role to continue on a long-term basis.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting creative professionals behind the scenes. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, & curious to understand dance & the performing arts. The role requires written/spoken proficiency in English, strong communication skills, & the ability to manage multiple workflows. Candidates should have good response times & some overlap with U.S Eastern Standard Time business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Communications:

- Provide quality customer service & professional correspondence
- Perform outreach for potential opportunities
Scheduling:
- Schedule management
- Coordinate client & personal bookings
Travel:
- Manage travel schedule & coordinate logistics (flights, accommodations, local travel)
- Develop & maintain site-specific databases (restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment, etc.)
Organization:
- Financial: General bookkeeping, invoice prep, & payment collections (Zelle, Venmo, Paypal)
- Build & maintain client databases
- Organize & manage files, photos, videos (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud)
- Assist with drafting/formatting documents & files
Marketing/Social Media:
- Prepare weekly newsletters & manage subscriber databases (Mailchimp)
- Social Media Content: Collaborate in development, schedule, prepare, upload, & monitor (Instagram,
- Execute simple website updates (Framer)
- Research trends & algorithms

Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (Spoken & Written)
- Reliable & responsive - some daytime availability in EST
- Professional communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, asks questions, & positive demeanor
- Access to high-speed internet connection
- Experience with Pages or Word, Numbers or Excel, Keynote or Powerpoint, Google Calendar, Google Drive
Preferred:
- Interest or familiarity with dance & the performing arts
- Experience with Framer, Calendly, Mailchimp
- Experience building basic content for marketing/social media
- Experience with basic video editing
Compensation:
Ideally, this position will start part-time (20-25 hours per week), then expand to full-time (40 hours) within 6 months.
