n8n Automation Developer (AI & Workflow Systems)

- Role Overview
We’re looking for a mid-level n8n Automation Developer to help us design, build, extend, and maintain workflow automations across:

Internal products and systems

Client projects

R&D and experimentation

Some workflows are prebuilt and need extending or hardening.
Others are custom from scratch.

You’ll work from clear internal briefs, with occasional client interaction when needed.

This role starts part-time, with a clear path to full-time for the right person.

- Core Responsibilities
n8n Workflow Development

Build, extend, and maintain self-hosted n8n workflows

Customise existing flows to fit new use cases

Design reliable, readable, and maintainable automations

Handle error states, retries, logging, and edge cases

Improve performance and resilience of live workflows

AI & LLM Integration

Build workflows using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)

Use MCP servers and AI tooling to accelerate development

Integrate AI models across:

Text / LLMs

Image generation

Video

Voice (e.g. ElevenLabs)

RAG pipelines

Use AI effectively — not blindly

Data, APIs & Systems

Integrate APIs and third-party services

Work with databases (SQL, MongoDB or similar)

Read/write data safely and predictably

Understand how workflows interact with real systems

Scripting & Logic

Use JavaScript and Python where needed

Comfortable with low-code + AI-assisted coding

Bonus if you can write clean custom logic when required

R&D & Internal Tooling

Support experimentation and proof-of-concept builds

Help turn rough ideas into reusable internal workflows

Contribute to improving BaseOne’s automation frameworks

- Required Skills & Experience
Solid hands-on experience with n8n

Strong understanding of workflow automation concepts

Experience integrating LLM APIs and AI services

Comfortable using AI to accelerate development

Experience working with APIs and data flows

Clear problem-solving mindset

Able to work from briefs and ask the right questions

- Nice to Have
Deeper Python or JavaScript experience

Experience with RAG systems

Experience with fal.ai, ElevenLabs, image/video models

Docker, VPS, or infrastructure familiarity

Experience supporting client-facing automations

- Working Arrangement
Fully remote

Part-time to start
