Position: Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst
Rate: $5/hour full time + perks and benefits

Job Description:
The SOC Analyst is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity events across all managed environments. This role plays a critical part in detecting threats, preventing attacks, and ensuring the security posture of all clients using FOS services. The SOC Analyst works closely with technicians and clients, providing both backend analysis and direct communication when handling infections, compromised accounts, or security i ---------- .

Roles and Responsibilities.
Alert Triage:The SOC Analyst prioritizes alerts based on severity and potential impact, ensuring that high-priority threats are addressed immediately.

Investigation:
The analyst examines alerts in detail to determine the scope and nature of potential threats. This involves reviewing logs, endpoint activity, network traffic, and user behavior.

Containment & Isolation:
If a compromise is detected, the analyst isolates affected systems to prevent lateral movement, blocks malicious IP addresses, disables compromised accounts, and applies patches or other protective measures.

Remediation & Recovery:
Remediation includes removing malware or unauthorized software, restoring affected systems or data from backups, and performing security refreshes on client endpoints as needed.

Documentation & Analysis:

Preventive Measures & Continuous Monitoring:
The analyst implements proactive measures based on i ---------- findings and continuously monitors endpoints, cloud services, and network activity for recurring threats. Security configurations and detection rules are adjusted as necessary.

Reporting:
The SOC Analyst generates reports for management, clients, or regulatory compliance as required and tracks KPIs for alert resolution and i ---------- response efficiency.

Qualification:
Associate’s Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, OR 1–2 years of relevant IT/SOC experience Proven experience in cybersecurity operations, alert monitoring, i ---------- response, and threat management "Proficiency in using and monitoring SOC tools including, but not limited to: Autotask, Datto RMM, Datto EDR, Datto AV, BullPhish ID, DarkWeb ID, Graphus, SaaS Alerts, ConnectSecure, RocketCyber, Vade, Duo, Trend Micro, VPenTest, Kaseya 365, and Office 365/Entra" Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, risky sign-ins, MFA enforcement, mailbox rule analysis, phishing investigation, and account compromise handling Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) Ability to communicate professionally with clients regarding malware infections, compromised accounts, and security i ---------- (role is not purely backend) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions during high-severity i ---------- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus

Experience:
1–2 years of proven experience in a technical support, IT operations, or cybersecurity/SOC environment Hands-on experience with i ---------- response, threat detection, endpoint investigations, and security tool management Demonstrated ability to handle malware infections, phishing attempts, compromised accounts, suspicious login activity, and email-based threats Experience reviewing logs, dashboards, audit reports, and alerts across multiple security platforms Background in managing whitelisting/blacklisting, email security tuning, tenant security reviews, and remediation tasks Experience performing daily audits to ensure systems, monitoring tools, and alerting mechanisms are operational Strong documentation skills for i ---------- reports, ticketing systems, and evidence tracking Experience collaborating with technicians, cross-functional teams, and clients during security i ---------- Ability to prioritize high-severity alerts, work under pressure, and manage large volumes of daily alerts Experience contributing to continuous improvement of SOC processes, detection rules, workflows, and remediation playbooks
