This role is about designing thumbnails that make that decision easy — clear, interesting, and worth clicking. If you enjoy thinking about why people click and turning that into simple, strong designs, this role may be a good fit.
I’m looking for a YouTube thumbnail designer who enjoys creating thumbnails that get clicks while staying clean and intentional. This role is for someone who likes working with clear rules, strong ideas, and simple layouts. The main goal of every thumbnail is to help the right people click on the video.
I run a YouTube channel called Fearless Abroad. The channel is new, and I am building it full-time from the ground up. I work with YouTube mentors and follow a thumbnail framework based on what performs well. The system will continue to improve over time, and I’m looking for a designer who wants to grow with it.
This role is a good fit if you:
-Have real experience designing YouTube thumbnails (not just general graphic design)
-Understand how thumbnails influence clicks and viewer behavior
-Are familiar with core thumbnail concepts such as:
-Curiosity and contrast
-Clear focus and visual hierarchy
-Emotion and attention
-Can design and deliver a thumbnail within 1–3 days after assignment
-Are responsive and able to communicate clearly during that time
-Are comfortable working asynchronously (time zone is flexible)
-Can accept feedback and make revisions when needed
Years of experience are not important.
Skill, judgment, and consistency matter more.
Your work will include:
-Designing YouTube thumbnails for new videos
-Creating 1–3 thumbnail options per video
-Executing within a proven thumbnail framework built around:
-Clear topic context (what the video is about at a glance)
-Curiosity or tension (a reason to click)
-One dominant visual focus (clear hierarchy, no clutter)
-Making revisions based on:
-Feedback from YouTube mentors and experts
-Performance data and early analytics
-Testing and iterating on different thumbnail styles to help develop a consistent, high-performing visual direction over time
You will receive written guidelines and direction for each video. Feedback will be informed by professional guidance and real performance data. This is a collaborative, evolving process as the channel grows.
This is not a one-time project. If we work well together, this can become ongoing weekly work and a long-term role. You’ll be joining the project early and helping shape how the visuals evolve over time.
How to Apply
-Please send a short message that includes:
-One suggestion on how to improve one thumbnail on my YouTube channel:
-(1–2 sentences is enough)
-Examples of your previous thumbnail work (links or portfolio)
-Your price (per thumbnail or per set of 3 thumbnails)
-Your time zone and general availability
Please start your message with the word SUCCESS so I know you read the full post. Applications without this word will not be reviewed.
If you enjoy designing thumbnails with purpose, working inside clear rules, and improving performance over time, I’d love to see your work.
