Pixel Art Online Board Game UI / UX Designer (8bit Art Specialist)

We’re building an online board game with a strong 8-bit / retro aesthetic.
The game concept, mechanics, and overall direction are already finalized — we’re now looking for a talented designer to bring the entire visual experience to life.

You’ll be working closely with our internal team to design and produce all UI/UX and visual assets needed for the game.

Responsibilities
- Design full UI/UX for an online board game (menus, lobby, boards, buttons, HUD, etc.)
- Create 8-bit / pixel art assets consistent with a retro game style

Design game elements such as:
- Boards
- Cards / tiles
- Icons
- UI components
- Backgrounds and decorative assets
- Collaborate with the team to refine UX flow and usability
- Prepare assets in formats ready for implementation
- Maintain visual consistency across the entire game

Requirements
- Strong background in 8-bit / pixel art design (this is mandatory)
- Proven experience in UI/UX design for games or interactive products
- Ability to create original pixel art assets, not just UI mockups
- Understanding of UX principles for games (clarity, feedback, flow)
- Experience working collaboratively with developers and product teams
- Proficiency in relevant design tools (Aseprite, Photoshop, Figma, etc.)
- Portfolio showing pixel art + UI work (game-related preferred)

Nice to Have
- Previous experience designing online or multiplayer games
- Familiarity with board games or turn-based games
- Animation experience (8-bit UI animations is a big plus)
