Position Summary:
We’re looking for very Experienced Bookkeeper who truly understands real?estate?specific bookkeeping and accounting — managing complex inter?entity books, loans payable and receivable, trust and escrow accounts, depreciation, and capital tracking. (If these things are new to you, please do not apply.) You’ll join a collaborative, high?trust team that values both precision and candor. The ideal candidate enjoys solving accounting puzzles, defending their work with evidence, and collaborating with others to continually improve systems and controls. You MUST be comfortable in English and be able to write clearly to communicate using Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain full?cycle accounting for multiple entities: general ledger, balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow.
- Manage and reconcile operating, trust, and reserve accounts, ensuring complete accuracy across ledgers.
- Track inter?company loans, notes payable, and receivables, maintaining amortization schedules and journal entries.
- Log fixed asset management, capital improvements, and depreciation schedules.
- Coordinate with property managers and executives to review monthly and quarterly financials, analyze variances, and ensure compliance with GAAP and trust accounting standards.
- Support audits, lender reviews, and owner reporting packages.
- Produce timely and transparent reporting to leadership and ownership, ready to substantiate figures and assumptions.
- Contribute to ongoing process refinement, helping improve systems, controls, and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.

- Deep understanding of trust/escrow accounting, inter?company transactions, and capital project tracking.
- Advanced proficiency in AppFolio (or other property management software), Excel, and GAAP?compliant reporting.
- Skilled with AI lookup, research, and content generation (eg letters)
- Experience handling multi?entity books and consolidations.
- Solid understanding of depreciation, amortization, and real?estate?specific accounting principles.

Location:
Remote. Candidates must have their own resources to reliably communicate. At a minimum, this is a late-model computer, 2 higher resolution monitors, microphone/speakers or headset, and highspeed internet (at least 20 Mbps). Cellphone is a major help. We typically work 8:00 - 5:00 USA Pacific time and are somewhat flexible in what works for you. Typical days are 8 hours/day or 40 hours/wk and can vary based on projects and time of year.
