JOB OVERVIEW

You’ll be working with a well-established New Zealand business operating in the industrial storage, warehousing, and materials-handling sector. Their customers include logistics operators, manufacturers, trade suppliers, and large commercial buyers who make high-intent, safety-driven purchasing decisions.

This is a business with strong offline credibility and repeat customers — and a clear opportunity to extract more value from Google Ads.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Google Ads Lead to take full ownership of paid search performance. Your primary responsibility is simple and commercial:
- Generate more high-quality leads through Google Ads — efficiently and predictably.
SEO is part of the picture, but this role is first and foremost about Google Ads strategy, optimisation, and execution. You’ll manage an existing monthly budget, identify inefficiencies, build a clear testing roadmap, and scale what works.

This is a part-time contractor role (20 hours/week) in a hands-off, trust-based environment. You’ll be expected to operate independently and proactively.

What You’ll Do:

Google Ads (Primary Focus)
- Own and optimise Search and Performance Max campaigns for lead generation
- Review and improve account structure, keyword intent, match types, and negatives
- Diagnose wasted spend and reallocate budget to higher-performing areas
- Improve ad relevance, Quality Score, and landing page alignment
- Design and run structured A/B tests (ads, extensions, targeting approaches)
- Increase weekly lead volume (target: from ~10–12 to 15+ per week)
- Monitor pacing, CPL, and conversion quality — not just clicks

Supporting SEO (Secondary)
- Conduct high-level SEO audits to identify obvious gaps or blockers
- Provide a clear 3–6 month SEO roadmap
- Collaborate with a developer or content provider for implementation

Reporting & Insight
- Deliver clear monthly performance reports (PDF or Looker Studio)
- Share short weekly updates with insights, risks, and next actions
- Translate performance data into plain-English business impact

Ways of Working
- Join structured check-ins
- Use email, slack and Trello for day-to-day communication and task tracking
- Create your own SOPs and optimisation frameworks

Who This Role Is For
This role will suit you if you:
- Are energised by hands-on Google Ads optimisation
- Enjoy cleaning up messy accounts and finding efficiency gains
- Think commercially about lead quality, not vanity metrics
- Prefer autonomy over micromanagement
- Like working with practical, B2B businesses where results matter

Must-Have Experience
- 6+ years’ experience running Google Ads campaigns end-to-end
- Strong background in lead generation, ideally B2B or technical markets
- Deep understanding of Search intent, match types, bidding, and negatives
- Confidence diagnosing tracking issues (GA4 basics, conversion actions, UTMs)
- Proven ability to improve CPL without increasing spend
- Clear, confident communicator with a structured working style

Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Performance Max in lead-gen contexts
- Familiarity with WordPress and landing page optimisation
- Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or logistics sectors
- Looker Studio reporting
- SEO knowledge

What Success Looks Like
- More qualified inbound leads from Google Ads
- Stable or improving CPL
- Cleaner account structure with intentional testing
- Proactive optimisation — no “set and forget”
- Clear, reliable reporting and communication

Role Details
- Part-time contractor: ~20 hours per week
- Flexible working hours
- Long-term potential for the right person
- High-trust, low-ego environment

If you’re a senior Google Ads specialist who wants ownership, flexibility, and the chance to make a visible impact in a high-intent B2B space — we’d love to hear from you.
