Shopify Operations & Platform Assistant
(Start Part-Time, Grow to Full-Time)
About Us
We’re a fast-growing Shopify-based e-commerce company in the animal and bioactive space. We care deeply about quality, organization, and building systems that make work calmer — not chaotic.
Our store runs on Shopify, with custom design components built using Instant.so. You do not need prior Instant.so experience — training and guidance will be provided.
This role exists to support execution, platform organization, and operational clarity across our Shopify store.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on Shopify operations role focused on execution, organization, and platform health.
You’ll collaborate with:
• the business owner (priorities and approvals)
• a senior Shopify developer (technical guidance and training)
• other tea
You will not be expected to invent strategy, but you will be expected to understand how Shopify works as a system and help implement decisions cleanly.
Hours & Growth Path
• Start part-time (10–20 hours per week)
• Opportunity to grow into full-time as trust and workload increase
• Long-term role for the right person
What You’ll Work On
Shopify Execution
• Creating and updating product pages using existing templates
• Uploading products, images, descriptions, variants, and pricing
• Managing collections, tags, and navigation
• Making minor layout updates within Shopify sections and blocks
• Working within existing Instant.so components (training provided)
Shopify Apps & Platform Support
• Reviewing and helping vet Shopify apps before installation
• Understanding what apps do, how they affect performance, and how they interact
• Assisting with app setup, configuration, and basic implementation
• Helping manage existing apps (settings, updates, cleanup, documentation)
• Flagging redundant, unnecessary, or conflicting apps
(You won’t make final decisions alone — but you will help us evaluate and implement.)
Task & Team Collaboration
• Working from Trello task boards
• Keeping task status up to date
• Communicating progress, questions, and blockers clearly
• Coordinating with multiple tea
What We’re Looking For
• Solid experience working with Shopify stores
• Comfortable navigating the Shopify admin and app ecosystem
• Able to understand how different apps, themes, and settings interact
• Organized, detail-oriented, and communicative
• Able to give rough time estimates before starting tasks
• Comfortable asking questions instead of guessing
Pay
• Based on experience
• Please include your expected hourly rate
Application Questions
Please answer all questions clearly and honestly.
Shopify Experience
How long have you worked with Shopify, and what types of tasks have you handled most often?
Shopify Apps Experience
What Shopify apps have you worked with in the past?
How have you helped evaluate, configure, or manage apps?
Product Page Work
Please share 1–2 Shopify product pages you’ve worked on and briefly explain what you were responsible for.
Task Estimation
If asked to duplicate an existing product page template, upload images and text provided by the team, and QA the page, how long would you estimate this would take?
(We’re looking for your reasoning, not a perfect number.)
Scope Awareness
If you start a task and realize it will take significantly longer than expected, what do you do?
Organization & Communication
What tools have you used to track tasks and updates (e.g., Trello, Asana, ClickUp)?
How do you usually keep teammates informed?
Availability & Growth
How many hours per week are you available to start, and are you open to growing into a full-time role over time?
Why This Role Matters
This role helps keep our Shopify platform clean, understandable, and scalable as we grow. We’re looking for someone who values clarity, systems, and thoughtful execution — and who wants to grow with a long-term team.
