Part-Time Social Media Manager for Travel Photography Brand

20 hrs/week | Long-term potential | High trust, high ownership

I’m looking for an experienced, proactive Social Media Manager to run my personal travel photography brand, Jake’s Visuals.

This is not a beginner role.

I’m a full-time travel photographer and videographer. I shoot constantly, travel often, and have a deep backlog of strong photo and video content. What I don’t have is the time to post consistently, experiment aggressively, and optimize my Instagram presence day to day.

That’s where you come in.

Your job is to turn raw content into daily, high-quality posts that feel like they're coming fro ---------- , while helping grow followers and book paid travel gigs.

Instagram is the main focus.
Youtube + LinkedIn are the secondary focuses

What Success Looks Like

After a few months:
• My account is posting 5x per week without me needing to manually post
• Content feels authentic, personal, and aligned with my taste
• Reach, views, and followers are trending up month over month
• The profile is optimized (bio, highlights, links, positioning)
• You are actively testing formats, hooks, and ideas to find winners
• Inbound interest and outbound outreach are turning into paid gigs



Responsibilities

Instagram (Primary Focus)
• Plan and manage a weekly content calendar
• Organize my photo and video backlog into ready-to-post assets
• Write captions in my voice (story-driven, travel-focused, personal)
• Edit strong storytelling reels using CapCut
• Post directly to my account using Meta Scheduler
• Reply to comments and most DMs in my voice
(brand inquiries will be handled by me)
• Do outbound brand outreach via DM using scripts I provide
• Post in real time occasionally during trips or shoots (nice to have)

Other Platforms
• Repurpose Instagram content for YouTube Shorts
• Maintain consistent branding and tone across platforms

Growth, Testing, and Reporting
• Track performance (views, reach, follower growth, gigs booked)
• Run experiments aggressively, even if some posts fail
• Bring new content ideas, series, and formats proactively
• Weekly reporting + weekly call
• Daily async communication via WhatsApp

Requirements (Read Carefully)
• This is not an entry-level role
• Proven experience managing Instagram accounts for creatives, photographers, or travel brands
• Strong eye for storytelling, pacing, and visual taste
• Proficient in CapCut (clean, compelling edits, not just templates)
• Comfortable writing captions
• Fast communicator who does not need hand-holding
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Willing to experiment, test, and iterate constantly
• Able to overlap with US mornings

Bonus, but not required:
• Photography or videography background
• Strong visual taste and composition instincts
• Interest in learning paid ads over time

Compensation
• $300/month
• 10% commission on all paid gigs you bring in
• Typical gigs are $2,500+ (so a $250 commission), so commissions can add up quickly
