I am looking for a high-calibre bookkeeping and personal assistant to support a UK-based accountancy practice that works primarily with small businesses, personal trainers and online coaches.
This is a long-term role for the right person, with clear progression opportunities, increased responsibility and higher pay for strong performers.

About the Role
You will work remotely and closely with me to support the day-to-day running of the practice. The role is a mix of bookkeeping, payroll, compliance support and administrative assistance.
You must be fluent in English, highly organised, detail-oriented and confident working independently in a remote environment. You will need to be available for at least half of the UK working day (GMT).

Experience & Background Required
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in UK bookkeeping and payroll
• Strong working knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations
• Proven experience working remotely with UK clients
• Confident, proactive problem-solver with excellent attention to detail

Core Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping using Sage, AutoEntry, Xero and QuickBooks
• Payroll processing using BrightPay (and Sage Payroll as introduced)
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns (Sage)
• Assisting with year-end accounts and corporation tax returns (Sage)
• Excel and spreadsheet formatting tasks
• Drafting professional
• Client onboarding administration (including Client Engager workflows)
• Confirmation Statements and general company administration
• Joining regular update calls with me
• General ad-hoc administrative and accounting support

Skills & Attributes
• Fluent written and spoken English
• A recognised accountancy qualification
• Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting software, particularly:
o Sage
o AutoEntry
o BrightPay
o Working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks
• Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
• Ability to take feedback, learn quickly and implement changes
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• High attention to detail, especially for data entry and reconciliations
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
• Strong awareness of confidentiality and data protection requirements
• Reliable, high-speed internet connection

Working Hours & Progression
• Approx. 10 hours per week initially
• Hours and responsibilities will increase as the relationship develops
• Hourly rate increases and promotions available for high achievers
• Long-term opportunity with potential to move towards a larger or full-time role. (Highly likely within the first 6-12 months)
