Social Media Video Editor (Direct Response & Motion Graphics)
Location: Remote
Type: Full-time
Platforms: TikTok, Instagram Reels & Stories, YouTube (long-form + shorts)

The Role
We’re hiring a high-level video editor who specializes in direct-response, high-retention social video.
Your job is to take direct-to-camera footage and turn it into scroll-stopping, performance-driven edits using pacing, sound design, motion graphics, and visual storytelling.
This is not passive brand content.
This is aggressive, fast-paced, conversion-oriented video inspired by top-performing VSLs and short-form ads.
You should already know what great looks like — and be excited to push edits hard. If you need heavy hand-holding, this won’t be a fit.

What You’ll Be Editing
Direct-response short-form ads (9:16)
VSL-style social videos
Talking-head sales content with heavy visual support
Long-form YouTube content ? repurposed into high-impact shorts
Quality > quantity.
We care about hooks, retention, clarity, and persuasion — not “pretty edits.”

What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Editing long-form videos and repurposing them into high-retention short-form clips
• Creating motion graphics, kinetic typography, UI mockups, and visual callouts
• Designing pattern interrupts (cuts, zooms, text, B-roll, SFX) to hold attention
• Using sound design intentionally (hits, whooshes, risers, impacts, UI sounds)
• Maintaining fast pacing with zero dead air
• Visually amplifying:
Claims
Proof
Contrast
Risk reversals
• Making strong editorial decisions with minimal direction
• Delivering clean, on-brand edits with minimal revision cycles

What This Role Is NOT
Not a bulk hook/CTA swap role
Not template-only editing
Not a subtitle-only position
Not slow, cinematic, or documentary-style editing
Not a role with constant step-by-step instructions
If you need heavy hand-holding, this won’t be a fit.

Requirements
2+ years editing social-first or performance-driven content
Strong portfolio showing talking-head videos with motion graphics
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Working knowledge of After Effects (required)
Strong sense of pacing, typography, and visual hierarchy
Comfortable editing for retention and persuasion, not just aesthetics
Ability to think in terms of hooks, beats, and viewer psychology
