JOB OVERVIEW

About the role

We are hiring a high-level Fashion Product Researcher + Competitor/Data Analyst for a Shopify fashion dropshipping store targeting NL/EU.
This is a critical role: you will help us stay ahead of competitors, validate trends, and build winning collections of similar products (not random one-offs).

We need someone who can combine:

Product research (fashion)

Competitor tracking (ads, offers, new launches, site changes)

Data analysis in Google Sheets/Excel

Market validation (Google Trends + Meta Ad Library reach/CPC per country)

Core responsibilities
1) Fashion product research (dropshipping)

Find winning fashion items and build collections around them (similar products, variants, complementary styles).

Source and expand product sets using AliExpress / Temu (and similar platforms).

Validate product potential: demand, competition, pricing, and return-risk (quality, sizing, expectation mismatch).

2) Trend & market validation (Google Trends)

Use Google Trends to validate categories and confirm upward trends (avoid downward trend products).

Understand seasonality patterns and explain why now.

3) EU market research (multi-language)

Research in multiple EU markets (NL, DE, FR, IT, ES, etc.).

Use DeepL/Translate tools to search competitor ads/stores in local languages.

Identify market-specific store mismatches (offer, pricing, positioning, language, shipping promises).

4) Meta Ad Library validation (reach + CPC awareness)

Validate products using 7-day reach benchmarks and CPC differences per country.

D ---------- fast: TEST / HOLD / KILL based on evidence.

5) Competitor tracking (weekly + ideally daily)

Track key competitors and report:

new product launches

changes in ads volume/spend signals (ads increasing/decreasing)

changes in offers/sales (discount %, BOGO, bundles)

changes in website structure (themes, collection pages, navigation)

Explain what it means and what we should do.

6) Website & collection strategy analysis (our site + competitors)

Analyze competitor websites and our Shopify store:

why specific themes and collection pages are used

what improves conversion (trust signals, PDP layout, size charts, shipping promises)

what we should adjust on our site (clear, actionable recommendations)

7) Data analysis & reporting (Excel/Sheets)

Maintain a competitor + product pipeline in Google Sheets/Excel.

Provide weekly updates (summary + insights + next actions).

Keep data clean and structured (scorecards, comparisons, clear notes).

Tools (must-have)

Google Sheets / Excel (advanced: filters, tables, scorecards)

Meta Ad Library (reach-based validation)

Google Trends

PPSpy (or similar ad/competitor spy tools)

DeepL / Translate tools

AliExpress / Temu sourcing checks

What you deliver (non-negotiable output)
A) Product briefs (per product)

Each brief must include:

product + competitor links + ad references

Google Trends validation (market + timeframe)

competitor pricing + sale/offer details

sourcing (Ali/Temu links) + COGS/shipping assumptions

target audience + angles/hooks + creative ideas

risks (returns/sizing/quality/delivery) + mitigation

decision: TEST/HOLD/KILL + why

B) Competitor report (weekly)

key competitor changes (ads, offers, launches, site changes)

what it means + what action we should take

KPI examples

3–5 validated product briefs/week (in 5–10 hours/week)

1 weekly competitor report (clear actions)

% of briefs that pass testing stages

Speed + accuracy of decisions (less wasted tests)

How we hire (paid test)

We hire through a short paid test:

Create 1 fashion product brief + 1 mini competitor snapshot (in our template)

How to apply

Send:

Short intro + relevant experience

Your tool ratings (0–10): Meta Ad Library, Google Trends, PPSpy, Excel/Sheets, Ali/Temu sourcing, competitor website analysis

2 fashion product ideas plus “collection expansion”: show 3 similar products you would add around it (Ali/Temu links are fine)

Availability + timezone
