ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced editorial content manager to oversee the updating, accuracy, and optimization of existing travel and hotel content on a high-traffic WordPress website.
This is not a writing-from-scratch role. The focus is on editing, fact-checking, and maintaining existing content — with an eye toward quality, consistency, and the bigger picture across the site.
You should think like an editor: able to assess what matters, what’s outdated, what needs improvement, and how individual posts fit into the overall content strategy.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Manage the process of updating and refreshing existing travel and hotel posts
Review content for accuracy, clarity, and trustworthiness
Fact-check pricing, amenities, policies, hours, and logistics
Use AI tools responsibly to assist with research and validation
Edit content to improve structure and usefulness without changing the established voice
Optimize posts for SEO using tools like SurferSEO, when appropriate
Work directly inside WordPress (Kadence theme)
Ensure content aligns with:
SEO best practices
Google Helpful Content principles
QRG / E-E-A-T expectations
Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities across the site
Recommend which posts need updates, consolidation, or cleanup
STAYING CURRENT (IMPORTANT)
This role requires someone who stays informed about:
Best practices for content quality, SEO, and AI-assisted workflows
Changes in search behavior and content evaluation standards
Travel-industry updates that impact factual accuracy
You don’t need to chase trends — but you should think proactively about maintaining authority and trust at scale.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
Not bulk AI content generation
Not rewriting posts from scratch
Not keyword stuffing or SEO gimmicks
Not guessing or filling gaps without verification
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Experience editing, updating, or managing existing content
Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals
Familiarity with Google QRG, E-E-A-T, and Helpful Content principles
Experience working in WordPress
Comfort using AI tools as an editorial assistant
Fluent English (written and reading comprehension)
Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
NICE TO HAVE
Travel or hotel industry background
Experience with Kadence or block-based WordPress editors
Experience using SurferSEO
Experience maintaining large or evergreen content libraries
WORK STYLE
Thinks in terms of systems and patterns, not just individual posts
Comfortable making recommendations and prioritizing work
Detail-oriented, careful with facts
Clear communicator who asks smart questions
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Part-time to start, with potential for ongoing work
Competitive rate based on experience
This is not an entry-level role
START TIMING
Starting ASAP. Flexible around the holidays.
HOW TO APPLY
Please include:
A summary of your experience managing or editing existing content
Examples of content you’ve updated or overseen
How you use AI in an editorial workflow
Any travel or hotel-related experience (if applicable)
Confirmation that you are fluent in English
