Junior Web Developer (Part-Time, Long-Term Opportunity)

Hours: 10–20 hours per week initially (up to 40 hours depending on workload)
Contract: Part-time with strong potential to move to full-time

About Us

We are a UK-based digital agency specialising in direct-to-consumer e-commerce websites within the marine industry.

Almost all of our development work is focused on WooCommerce and Shopify.

We do not build on lots of platforms. We focus on working at a high standard and at scale.

You will be supporting our Senior Lead Developer and working on real client projects from day one.

The Role

This is a junior support role, not a lead position.

Your job is to help with implementation, setup, fixes, and general design and development tasks across multiple websites. You will be given clear direction, feedback, and support.

If you perform well, this role is designed to grow, both in hours and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
• Assisting with WooCommerce and Shopify website builds
• Assisting with Figma designs
• Product setup, content population, and layout work
• Implementing designs
• Small fixes, updates, and QA checks
• Ensuring websites are responsive across devices
• Supporting the senior developer with day-to-day tasks
• Providing daily progress updates

Communication and Schedule

Great English is essential, written and spoken.

Daily communication with your manager via Slack (async is fine).

Weekly face-to-face video meeting with someone from the team.

Working hours are flexible, but you must be available at some point each working day for communication.

We care about output, reliability, and communication, not strict clock-watching or micromanagement.

Required Skills (Junior Level)

You should be comfortable with the basics:
• Basic design skills
• WordPress fundamentals, including Elementor Pro
• WooCommerce
• Shopify fundamentals
• Basic HTML and CSS
• Basic PHP or JavaScript
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and consistently

You do not need to be an expert. You do need to be dependable and willing to learn.

Nice to Have (Not Required)
• Shopify theme customisation
• Any custom coding experience
• 3D animation experience

These are a bonus, not a requirement.

Growth and Progression

This role is built for long-term design and development.

Hours are likely to increase quickly in early 2026 due to a strong project pipeline.

Opportunity to move to full-time if the fit is right.

Clear path to Senior Developer or Lead Developer within 6–12 months.

Pay and responsibility increase with performance.
