Video Editor + Thumbnail Designer (Multi-Platform Posting)

YouTube channel with 900k subscribers is looking for a video editor who can take already-edited landscape videos (16:9) and translate them into portrait (9:16) versions - complete with clean, accurate captions. You’ll also be responsible for high-performing YouTube thumbnail design.

This is a self-managed role. You’ll be expected to hit deadlines, keep quality consistent, and publish content across platforms without constant oversight (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok).

Core Responsibilities

A) Vertical Reformatting + Captions (2–3 posts/day)

Take finished landscape edits and convert them into 9:16 vertical versions

Use smart framing techniques:

center framing / rule of thirds

punch-in / pan-and-scan

occasional cutaways/B-roll if provided (optional)

Add accurate captions (capcut > premiere):

correct wording, punctuation, and timing

emphasis on key phrases when appropriate

B) Thumbnail Design (High Priority)

Design scroll-stopping YouTube thumbnails

Strong understanding of CTR basics (emotion, contrast, clean text, clarity)

Ability to match brand style while testing new creative angles

C) Posting / Publishing

Publish longform portrait content to:


Facebook

TikTok

YouTube (thumbnails when needed)

Stay organized: file naming, folders, version control, and upload consistency

Required Skills

Proven short-form experience specifically with 16:9 ? 9:16 conversions

Strong captioning skills (accuracy + timing + formatting)

Good instincts for retention pacing (tight cuts, fast flow, strong hooks)

Advanced thumbnail design ability (Photoshop preferred; Canva acceptable if you’re elite)

Experience posting across TikTok/Facebook/YouTube

Reliable and self-directed, able to deliver daily without hand-holding

Deliverables & Turnaround

2–3 vertical videos per day from existing landscape edits

Accurate captions on every clip

Thumbnails delivered on-time with correct sizing/export formats
