About Us

We are a U.S.-based CPA & financial advisory firm providing tax preparation and advisory services to individuals and businesses nationwide. We are seeking a Senior US Tax Reviewer & Backup Preparer to support our tax team by reviewing prepared returns and stepping in to prepare returns when needed during peak periods.

This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and real U.S. tax experience. You must know when to flag issues and when to escalate to a CPA — not guess.

Primary Responsibilities
Review prepared Form 1040, 1120S, and 1065 returns for accuracy and completeness
Verify income, deductions, credits, carryforwards, and consistency across years
Review depreciation schedules, basis, K-1 allocations, and book-to-tax adjustments
Identify missing documents, inconsistencies, and tax risks
Provide clear, concise reviewer notes to preparers and CPAs
Prepare returns independently when needed as a backup preparer
Follow firm SOPs, checklists, and file-naming conventions
Escalate issues appropriately — no guessing or assumptions

Required Qualifications (Must Have)
3+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation and/or review experience
Experience with:
1040s (Schedules C, E, rentals, K-1s)
1120S and/or 1065 returns
Proficiency with Lacerte,
Strong understanding of:
Depreciation & fixed assets
Pass-through taxation
Basis & capital accounts
Multi-state returns (basic to moderate)
Excellent written English
Reliable high-speed internet and professional home office

Preferred (Nice to Have)
Prior experience reviewing returns for a U.S. CPA firm
Experience preparing business returns independently
Exposure to trusts (Form 1041) and high-net-worth individuals
Familiarity with QuickBooks and book-to-tax reconciliation

Work Schedule
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Must overlap at least 3–4 hours with U.S. Pacific or Eastern Time
Flexibility during tax season (Feb–Apr)

Compensation
$1,300 – $1,700 USD per month, depending on experience
