Symbo is a modern sales dialer and communications platform built for teams that live on the phone. We help sales teams dramatically improve answer rates and efficiency through local-presence dialing, multi-line calling, CRM integrations, real-time analytics, and AI-powered insights.

We’re a small, fast-moving team building real infrastructure — telephony, data pipelines, CRM sync, analytics, and AI — not just CRUD apps. This role is for someone who wants ownership, impact, and interesting technical problems.

The Role

We’re looking for a Node.js backend engineer to help build and scale the core systems that power Symbo. You’ll work on APIs, real-time systems, integrations, and data pipelines that directly impact customer outcomes and call performance.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll be trusted to design systems, ship features, and improve reliability without layers of process.

What You’ll Work On
• Designing and building Node.js APIs that power our dialer, analytics, and workflows
• Scaling real-time systems (calls, events, state sync, webhooks)
• Building and maintaining CRM integrations (HubSpot, Bullhorn, Zoho, etc.)
• Working with telephony infrastructure (call flows, webhooks, events, routing)
• Designing data models and queries in MySQL and related stores
• Improving performance, reliability, and observability across backend services
• Collaborating closely with frontend engineers and product to ship end-to-end features
• Debugging real production issues that matter to customers (not toy problems)

Our Stack (You Don’t Need Everything Day One)
• Node.js (production-heavy, not scripts)
• AdonisJS and Express-style APIs
• MySQL, Clickhouse, Redis, NoSQL
• Docker (local + production)
• Event-driven patterns, queues, background jobs
• Third-party APIs (CRMs, carriers, analytics tools)
• Cloud infrastructure (DigitalOcean / Kubernetes-style deployments)

What We’re Looking For
• Strong experience building production Node.js backends
• Comfortable designing APIs and data models from scratch
• Solid understanding of async systems, queues, and background processing
• Experience debugging real-world issues in live systems
• Pragmatic mindset — you care about shipping, reliability, and customer impact
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly in a small team
