React Native / Expo Mobile App Developer (Full-Time, Remote)

We’re building a safety-focused mobile app that sends alerts only if a scheduled check-in is missed. Think of it as a quiet safety net — no constant tracking, only action when something goes wrong.
The app is in pre-alpha. The backend already exists. We’re looking for someone who can help take this from early build ? store launch.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain a React Native app using Expo

Work closely with a Project Manager and Designer in regular meetings

Integrate with an existing backend (auth already implemented)

Implement AWS-based push notifications

Manage local device state and reconcile with API data

Prepare, build, and deploy to Apple App Store and Google Play

Iterate quickly as features and UX evolve

Own mobile decisions and improve stability/performance

React Native

Expo (workflow choice up to you: Managed or Bare)

AWS (for push notifications)

Local device state synced with backend

Requirements
Must Have
Strong React Native experience

Expo experience (real production apps preferred)

Prior App Store + Play Store deployments

Experience with push notifications

Comfortable working with existing APIs

Good communication skills (English)

Nice to Have
Pre-alpha or startup product experience

Project Details
Stage: Pre-alpha (significant work remaining)

Backend: Already built & maintained

Duration: 3–6 months

Schedule: Full-time (30hr/week) , flexible hours

Meetings: (planning / architecture) Late morning / early afternoon PHT

Pay: $7-10/hour (Based on experience)

Location: Philippines (remote)

Platforms: iOS first, Android secondary

Accounts: Apple & Google developer access provided
