JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a video editor who refuses to be defined by a single style. You shouldn't just be an expert in one niche; you need to be a "Jack of all trades" who can adapt to any client’s voice. Whether it’s high-energy short-form content or paced, educational long-form, you understand the context before you make the first cut.

You aren't just cutting footage; you are storytelling. We need someone who understands the client’s niche, their goals, and how to retain retention through correct pacing, seamless transitions, and engaging motion graphics.

Who You Are ->

Adaptable: You don’t have "one style." You can mimic the fast-paced energy of a reel or the polished, professional vibe of a business documentary depending on the project.

Context-Aware: You watch the footage and understand what is being said, not just how it looks. You edit for meaning, not just for flash.

Technical Pro: You have mastered subtitle syncing (no drifting text), smooth transitions, and motion graphics specifically for educational/informational videos.

Platform Native: You understand what works on YouTube Shorts vs. a 15-minute YouTube tutorial.

The Aesthetic & Quality We Need Please review the following examples carefully. If you cannot match or exceed this quality, this role is not for you.

The Selection Process: The "Better Than Original" Challenge
We believe that a resume tells us what you have done, but your work tells us what you can do. We use a specific filter to identify editors who have an eye for missed opportunities.

Phase 1: The Intro Edit Most editors just cut what they are given. We want to see if you can elevate the material.

You will be given a task to create a 1-2 minute intro from a published episode of a top-tier podcast (e.g., The Diary of a CEO).

The Goal: Show us you can hook an audience better than the original editor did. If your version grabs our attention more than the real one, you are 80% of the way there.

Phase 2: The Vibe Check If your edit passes Phase 1, we will jump on a call. This is to ensure you can communicate clearly, understand feedback, and that our working styles align.

If you’re ready to apply for this job, please include “Phase 1” in your application along with resume and any portfolio link if you have one!

We will reach out to you asap!
