Remote Bookkeeper (Construction Company)

About Us

Avaca Construction Inc. is a growing Canadian commercial construction company specializing in tenant improvements, retail and restaurant build-outs, and commercial renovations. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and replace an existing long-term role.

This position is fully remote and will play a key role in supporting our financial and project operations.


Work Schedule & Pay
• Hours: 4 hours per day
• Schedule: 7:00–11:00 AM CST
(9:00 AM–1:00 PM Philippines Time)
• Pay: $7–$10 USD per hour, based on experience
• Term: Long-term, ongoing position


Key Responsibilities
• Process and record vendor and subcontractor invoices
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across multiple projects
• Allocate costs correctly using job costing and project codes
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Track accounts payable and assist with payment preparation
• Prepare monthly financial summaries and reports
• Support payroll and expense tracking
• Maintain organized digital financial records
• Coordinate with management and external accountants as needed


Required Experience & Skills
• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Construction bookkeeping experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing
• Experience using QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Reliable internet connection
• Good written English communication skills


Nice to Have
• Experience working with Canadian or North American companies
• Familiarity with construction terms (POs, RFQs, progress billing, holdbacks)
• Experience supporting accountants during month-end or year-end close
• Previous long-term remote employment
