About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Grant Researcher & Proposal Writer to support our nonprofit clients with high-quality grant prospecting, grant calendars, narrative development, and proposal submissions. This position plays a key role in identifying aligned funders, preparing compelling applications, and maintaining an organized pipeline of funding opportunities.
You will work closely with our development team to deliver polished, accurate, and strategic grant materials for multiple nonprofit organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Research
• Conduct targeted grant research using approved tools and databases.
• Identify foundation, corporate, and government opportunities that match each client’s mission, budget size, geography, and program needs.
• Build structured grant calendars with deadlines, website links, and submission requirements.
• Verify eligibility criteria to ensure accurate matching for nonprofits.
Grant Writing
• Draft Letters of Intent, full grant proposals, budgets, program narratives, and attachments following each funder’s guidelines.
• Edit and refine client-provided content to fit grant style and requirements.
• Ensure all submissions are clear, persuasive, and aligned with the client's mission and impact metrics.
• Submit drafts by internal deadlines for review and revision.
Client Support & Administration
• Maintain updated grant trackers and research sheets.
• Communicate proactively with the development team regarding missing information or required documents.
• Ensure accuracy, professionalism, and high-quality writing at every stage.
• Support multiple nonprofits simultaneously, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong English writing skills, including grammar, clarity, and persuasive storytelling.
• Experience with grant research and grant writing (nonprofit experience preferred).
• Ability to follow templates, instructions, and writing frameworks.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage several assignments at once.
• Comfort working with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Willingness to learn various funding sources and nonprofit sectors.
Preferred but Not Required
• Experience writing proposals for nonprofit programs and/or business proposals.
• Familiarity with U.S.-based foundation, corporate, and government grant programs (not required)
• Prior work supporting U.S. based business during business hours
Work Schedule & Expectations
• 20 hours per week during the first 30 days (hours will increase to 35-40 hours per week after a successful trial period).
• Must meet weekly output requirements for research and writing.
• Must respond to messages within a reasonable time during working hours.
• Must be able to meet internal and funder deadlines consistently.
