Automation Engineering Manager (Honeywell Systems) Remote – Philippines | Reporting to UAE (Harrots Group)

Role Overview

As an Automation Engineering Manager, you will act as the technical authority and system architect for Honeywell automation solutions within Harrots Group. You will lead system-level design, support complex customer environments, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with sales, system integrators, and Honeywell teams.

This is a remote role (Philippines) with daily coordination with the UAE leadership and regional customers.

Key Responsibilities

System Architecture & Engineering Leadership
• Architect and design system-level automation solutions using Honeywell PLC, DCS, SCADA, SIS, and modular control platforms.
• Define and maintain system requirements, interface specifications, performance benchmarks, and engineering standards.
• Lead technical design reviews, risk assessments, validation strategies, and lifecycle governance for automation projects.
• Evaluate and select technologies, platforms, and tools aligned with long-term Honeywell and Harrots product strategies.

Honeywell Solution Expertise
• Serve as the technical focal point for Honeywell automation portfolios, including:
• Experion® DCS / SCADA
• ControlEdge® PLC & RTU
• SIS & Safety systems
• Modular and scalable control architectures
• Collaborate directly with Honeywell engineering, product, and support teams on system design, troubleshooting, and compliance.
• Support IEC standards (IEC 61131, industrial communication protocols) and certification requirements where applicable.

Customer & System Integrator Engagement
• Work closely with customers, EPCs, and system integrators to deliver robust and scalable automation solutions.
• Support customer onboarding through structured training programs, including Honeywell Automation College–style technical enablement.
• Provide advanced technical consulting for critical environments (oil & gas, power, water, data centers, infrastructure).
• Translate customer requirements into technical and commercial solution concepts to support sales and project teams.

Team Development & Governance
• Mentor and technically guide junior and mid-level automation engineers.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation standards, templates, and knowledge bases.
• Support internal process improvements for remote engineering execution.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in automation engineering, system engineering, or architecture roles.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Honeywell automation systems is mandatory.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, high-reliability automation systems in industrial environments.

Technical Expertise
• Deep understanding of:
• PLC, DCS, SCADA, SIS architectures
• Industrial protocols: Modbus, OPC-UA, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, BACnet
• Distributed and real-time control systems
• Experience with:
• Embedded systems concepts and system integration
• Hardware–software co-design and large-scale system deployments
• Knowledge of building automation or critical infrastructure domains is a strong plus.

Soft Skills
• Strong communication and leadership skills in a remote, cross-regional environment.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across sales, engineering, and partner teams.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset.

Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with IEC ---------- programming languages (Structured Text, Ladder Logic).
• Experience with model-based design, simulation tools, and system modeling.
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards and secure system design.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
