Full-Stack Mobile Developer

CONTRACT TYPE: 12-week full-time contract • Remote • Backend-focused

ABOUT THE COMPANY:
We're building Rovii, a location-based AR gaming platform that gets kids outdoors and active. We're looking for talented developers and specialists to help us launch our MVP in 12 weeks.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
You'll build the entire backend infrastructure and APIs that power Rovii's mobile game client. This includes user authentication, location services, token economy systems, retail partner integrations, and parental controls – all while ensuring COPPA compliance for children under 13. The frontend will be built using React Native or Flutter with AR capabilities powered by Unity, ARKit/ARCore, or similar frameworks (to be determined based on requirements).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Architect and deploy cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Design database schema for users, tokens, locations, and rewards
• Implement authentication with parental consent flows (COPPA requirement)
• Build RESTful APIs for mobile app integration (React Native or Flutter)
• Implement real-time location tracking and geofencing services
• Create token generation and distribution system
• Develop retail partner management system
• Implement reward redemption logic with QR code validation
• Build admin dashboard for operations team
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and error tracking

REQUIRED SKILLS (Must Have):
• 5+ years full-stack development experience with shipped production systems
• Mobile framework experience: APIs for React Native or Flutter applications
• Backend expertise: Node.js/Python/Go with modern frameworks
• API design: RESTful architecture, authentication, rate limiting
• Database proficiency: PostgreSQL/MySQL + Redis for caching
• Cloud platforms: AWS/GCP/Azure (serverless preferred)
• Geolocation services: Google Maps API, spatial queries, geofencing
• Authentication: OAuth 2.0, JWT, parental consent flows
• DevOps fundamentals: Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, logging

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
• Previous mobile gaming backend experience
• Experience with Unity backend services or AR application backends
• Location-based service implementation
• COPPA compliance knowledge for children's apps
• Payment gateway integration (Stripe/PayPal)
• Real-time features (WebSockets, push notifications)
• Security best practices and fraud detection

ENGLISH & WORKING HOURS:
Clear technical communication essential. Must write clear API documentation and explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Working Hours: Must be willing to work with majority overlap with Sydney business hours for daily standups and technical collaboration.
