About Us:

We are a solar permitting company dedicated to helping solar installers and contractors navigate the permitting process with accurate, compliant, and professionally designed plansets. We're looking for a skilled Solar Designer to join our team.

The Role:

As a Solar Designer, you'll be responsible for creating permit-ready solar plansets that meet AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements. You'll work closely with our team and clients to deliver high-quality designs efficiently.
What You'll Do

Design residential and/or commercial solar PV systems and create complete permit plansets

Draft site plans, electrical single-line diagrams, and structural details in AutoCAD

Manipulate and edit DWG and PDF files to meet specific permit requirements

Review and revise plans based on AHJ feedback and plan check corrections

Collaborate with tea ---------- mbers and clients via Trello, email, and WhatsApp

Maintain organized project files and meet turnaround deadlines

Requirements:

Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)

Experience creating solar permit plansets

Strong ability to work with DWG and PDF file formats

Familiarity with Trello or similar project management tools

Reliable communication through email and WhatsApp

Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of NEC electrical codes (especially Article 690)

Familiarity with structural requirements for roof-mounted solar systems

Experience with solar design software such as Aurora Solar, Helioscope, or OpenSolar

Understanding of utility interconnection and net metering requirements

Experience working with multiple AHJs and their varying requirements

NABCEP PV Associate or Design Specialist certification

Ability to read and interpret structural and electrical engineering stamps
