Senior AI Engineer

About the Role

We are building a first-of-its-kind AI financial platform for veterinary practices in the US.
Our platform, The Vet Profit Play™, is a financial operating system.
Our AI agent, The Vet Profit Agent™, acts as a Digital CFO that:
- Analyzes financial data
- Predicts risks
- Evaluates goals and performance
- Creates weekly scorecards
- Recommends actions
- Helps clinics grow profitably


Your Main Responsibilities

1. AI Agent Development
- Use OpenAI tools/function-calling
- Build agent workflows (multi-step reasoning)
- Create AI tools (get financial data, write insights, create tasks, etc.)
- Implement safe, reliable agent logic

2. Backend Development (Supabase)
- Create database schema for CATs, DOGs, KPIs, tasks, alerts, etc.
- Write SQL functions, policies, and triggers
- Set up authentication + RLS
- Write cron jobs and automation functions

3. QuickBooks Online Integration
- OAuth login
- Pull financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, AR, AP)
- Transform raw data into usable KPIs

4. Frontend Development (React + Tailwind)
- Daily Money Moves™ dashboard
- Alerts Center
- CATs & DOGs pages
- Weekly Scorecard
- Agent insights panel
- Settings and user accounts

Required Skills:
- OpenAI API (function-calling)
- Node.js or Python
- Supabase (SQL, RLS, policies, functions)
- React + Tailwind
- API integrations
- Building full-stack applications

Bonus:
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Financial dashboards
- Startup/SaaS experience
