JOB OVERVIEW

About Us

We are a fast-growing wholesale and distribution business based in UK entering an exciting phase of strengthening and stabilising our finance operations. We’re now looking for a hands-on, experienced Bookkeeper to join us in the office and take ownership of day-to-day financial processes.

This is not a remote or junior data-entry role. We need someone who is confident, accurate, organised, and capable of managing the full bookkeeping cycle from end to end.

The Role
You will maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records and ensure strong control across:
- Accounts Payable
1. Posting supplier invoices
2. Reconciling supplier statements
3. Resolving discrepancies

- Accounts Receivable
1. Raising and sending sales invoices
2. Allocating customer payments
3. Managing remittances

- Billing & Invoicing
1. Creating invoices from job sheets/POs
2. Ensuring all work is billed promptly and correctly

- Credit Control
1. Chasing overdue balances by phone/email
2. Managing ledger queries
3. Running credit checks
4. Maintaining credit accounts and limits

- Bank Reconciliation
1. Daily/weekly reconciliations across multiple bank accounts

- CIS Support
1. Inputting CIS data
2. Reconciling subcontractor deductions

- VAT Support
1. Preparing VAT workings
2. Ensuring correct postings throughout the period

- Month-End Support
1. Assisting with journals
2. Accruals & prepayments
3. Ensuring a clean and accurate trial balance

You’ll work closely with both the finance team and operations to keep the accounts accurate, well-maintained, and up to date.

You will thrive in this role if you have:
1. 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
2. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Navision) preferred
3. Strong understanding of AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
4. Solid ledger control experience
5. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
6. Confident communication with suppliers and customers
7. Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
8. Understanding of CIS and VAT (preferred)
