We’re looking for a detail-oriented Desktop Publisher with strong Adobe InDesign skills to help us take a series of documents (currently in Word and Google Docs) and turn them into professionally designed, print-ready and web-friendly PDFs.
These documents include things like:
• White papers
• Checklists, guides, and internal PDFs
• Marketing and sales documents
If you’re great at layout, typography, and consistency (and you actually notice when fonts, spacing, and headings are slightly off), this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
• Take content from Microsoft Word / Google Docs and lay it out in Adobe InDesign (or similar professional layout tools).
• Create clean, consistent templates for recurring document types (e.g., white papers, case studies, one-pagers).
• Apply and respect brand guidelines (colors, fonts, logo usage, spacing, etc.).
• Prepare final PDFs that are:
• Print-ready (correct bleed, margins, CMYK when needed)
• Digital-ready (optimized for
• Ensure consistent typography (styles, headings, lists, spacing) across all documents.
• Make revisions quickly based on feedback (text updates, design tweaks, etc.).
• Maintain a organized file structure for all working files (InDesign packages, links, exports).
Requirements
Must-Have:
• Proven experience as a Desktop Publisher, Layout Artist, or InDesign Specialist.
• Strong Adobe InDesign skills (this is non-negotiable).
• Experience working with Word and Google Docs, moving content into polished layouts.
• Good eye for layout, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to follow an existing brand guide and keep documents visually consistent.
• Reliable communication via
• Willingness to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) before starting any work.
Nice-to-Have (but not required):
• Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop basics (for simple graphic adjustments).
• Experience designing marketing collateral (brochures, sales sheets, presentation PDFs).
• Familiarity with Canva for quick edits (if needed).
Contract Details
• Duration: Minimum 1 month, likely 1–2 months depending on workload and performance.
• Preferably 25 hours per week minimum.
• Schedule: Eastern Time Canada
• Compensation: $400 to $600 US
• Payment via Wise.
