JOB OVERVIEW

Solar Project Coordinator (Residential Rooftop Solar)

Location: [Your Location or Remote]
Employment Type: Full-Time

About Us

We are a fast-growing residential rooftop solar company dedicated to delivering high-quality installations and an exceptional customer experience. With a strong reputation in the industry, we’re expanding our operations and looking for a skilled Solar Project Coordinator to manage the workflow from contract signing through installation.

Position Overview

The Solar Project Coordinator is responsible for owning the post-sale process for residential solar projects. This is not an entry-level customer service role—this position requires hands-on experience in solar operations, project progression, permitting, and interconnection. The ideal candidate has worked for a solar installer or EPC and is deeply familiar with the operational steps required to bring a project from signed contract to installation day.

You will work closely with site surveyors, design teams, utility/ AHJ permitting departments, and homeowners to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects from agreement signing through installation scheduling.

Coordinate site surveys, engineering reviews, design revisions, and document collection.

Prepare, submit, and track permitting, utility interconnection applications, and HOA approvals.

Monitor project milestones and proactively resolve bottlenecks to maintain timelines.

Serve as the primary point of communication for customers—setting expectations, providing updates, and ensuring a smooth experience.

Work cross-functionally with sales, operations, design, and installation teams.

Maintain accurate project records in CRM and project management platforms.

Ensure all compliance requirements and technical documentation are completed correctly.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

Required Experience

2+ years of experience in residential solar operations, project coordination, or solar EPC workflow.

Hands-on experience with solar permitting, utility interconnection, and AHJ requirements.

Familiarity with site surveys, plan sets, engineering, and typical residential solar installation steps.

Ability to read and interpret basic solar plan sets is a plus.

Strong communication and organization skills with experience managing multiple live projects.

Comfortable working directly with homeowners in a professional, informative, and confident manner.

Experience with solar CRMs/project software (e.g., Aurora, Solo, Salesforce, Enact, JobNimbus, etc.) preferred.

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who has been on the operations side of residential solar—not just customer support.

A proactive problem-solver who enjoys keeping complex processes on track.

A detail-oriented professional who understands solar timelines, AHJ/utility nuances, and the importance of accuracy.

A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization.
