JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an intermediate short-form video editor to turn intention-based raw footage into vertical social content for our brands (paid ads + organic posts).

This is Tier 2 – above basic montage editors. We need someone who understands pacing, story, and retention, not just cutting clips.

What you’ll do:
• Take talking-head / value-based raw footage with a clear topic (homeowner mistakes, cheap vs expensive options, reviews, rankings, etc.)
• Cut it into 25–45 second vertical videos (sometimes up to ~60s)
• Choose the best hooks, trim dead space, and keep the message tight
• Add supportive b-roll and simple motion (punch-ins, reframes, subtle speed ramps)
• Add burned-in captions/subtitles that are accurate and easy to read
• Balance audio and drop in music we provide
• Export final 9:16 videos and organize files correctly in Google Drive

Tools:
• Prefer DaVinci Resolve or CapCut
• Stable internet for downloading/uploading footage

Step 1 – Required Zoom Intro (10–15 minutes):
Before any paid trial work, we will schedule a 10–15 minute Zoom call with you. This is required.
• We’ll briefly explain our brands and editing expectations
• You can ask questions about workflow, deadlines, and communication
• We’ll confirm your internet speed, working setup, and availability
• After the call, we will share the Google Drive folder and test instructions

Step 2 – Paid Trial Structure:
• Trial rate: $18/hour (non-negotiable for trial)
• Hard cap: 3 hours total for the first test
• We send you 2 raw clip packs with clear intention
• Your goal: deliver 2 unique 25–45s vertical edits within the 3-hour cap
• We evaluate: pacing, story clarity, use of b-roll, caption quality, and how well you follow directions
• If you pass, you’ll get ongoing work (more hours and/or per-edit pricing for repeatable formats).

Important:
• You must respect the time cap (no logging extra without approval).
• We want editors who think about story, not just drag clips onto a timeline.

How to apply:

Send 2–3 links to vertical talking-head / value-based videos you edited (NOT just simple montages).
Tell us which software you use (DaVinci or CapCut) and describe your short-form workflow in 3–5 steps.
Confirm you can join a 10–15 minute Zoom call and share 3 possible time slots in PH time.
