JOB OVERVIEW

Objective:
I’m looking for someone who can thoroughly audit my Etsy shops for potential intellectual property (IP) infringement and help me understand which listings are risky so I can fix or remove them before they cause issues.

This is not a creative or design role. It’s a research, review, and documentation role focused on IP, trademarks, and Etsy policies.


Responsibilities
Full Shop Audit
Review every listing in my Etsy shop(s) for potential copyright, trademark, or other IP issues.
Flag risky content such as:

Brand names, logos, or taglines that may be trademarked
TV/movie/music/play references, character names, team names, etc.
Fonts, graphics, or design elements that may not be licensed for commercial use
Any wording/images that may violate Etsy’s IP or prohibited items policies
Policy & Reference Check
Cross-reference Etsy’s IP policies and prohibited items rules for each type of issue you spot.

When helpful, do basic trademark lookups (e.g., USPTO or similar databases in relevant countries) to validate concerns.
Documentation & Reporting

Build a clear tracking document (Google Sheet/Excel) that includes:
Listing title & link

Type of potential issue (copyright / trademark / other)
Risk level (High / Medium / Low)

Short explanation of why it may be a problem
Recommended action (Remove / Edit / Probably Safe)
Links or screenshots of supporting references (policy page, trademark database, etc. if applicable)

Provide a summary report at the end:
of total listings reviewed
of listings flagged by risk level
Common patterns/issues you see in my shop
High-level recommendations on how to stay more compliant in the future

Optional / Nice-to-Have
Suggest “safer” alternative phrasing or design angles (e.g., more generic wording instead of direct brand references).
Create a simple checklist or guideline for me/my team to use going forward when creating new listings.
