Virtual Assistant + Academic Tutor for 6th Grader (English, Math, Science, Homework Support)

We are looking for a reliable, patient, and organized Virtual Assistant who can also serve as an academic tutor for a 12-year-old (Grade 6) student.
This role includes VA work, homework help, study guidance, and light family support tasks.

You must have excellent spoken and written English, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain school topics clearly. Experience teaching kids or tutoring online is a big advantage.

This is a part-time, long-term position.

? Responsibilities
For Tutoring (60% of the role):

Help with daily homework (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)

Provide simple explanations for school topics

Prepare short study guides and review questions

Check answers and guide problem-solving

Help organize assignments & track due dates

Practice English reading, writing, and conversation

Use ChatGPT to create practice quizzes, summaries, and worksheets (when needed)

For VA / Family Support (40% of the role):

Light scheduling assistance (appointments, school events)

Research simple tasks (school info, activity ideas, supplies)

Basic messaging or email drafting

Reminders and daily planning

Other small family-related tasks as assigned

(No phone sales, no cold calling.)

???? Requirements

Excellent spoken English (clear, neutral accent preferred)

Strong written English; able to help correct homework

Comfortable tutoring Grade 6 level subjects

Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude

Stable internet + quiet environment for calls

Experience using ChatGPT for educational tasks (preferred)

Prior experience as an ESL tutor, teacher, or online tutor (big plus)

Ability to work during U.S. Pacific Time mornings or afternoons

? Schedule

Part-time: 2–4 hours per day, Monday–Saturday

Flexible timing, but must overlap at least 1–2 hours with PST

$3.50–$7.00 per hour, depending on experience
