JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
I’m looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Executive Assistant based in the Philippines who will focus heavily on research and structured thinking. You’ll help me investigate new markets, regulations, supply chains, and business opportunities, then turn what you find into clear, decision-ready memos.

This is not a calendar/email admin role. It’s closer to a junior analyst / research associate who also supports me with some light coordination and documentation.

What You’ll Do

Deep-dive research

Analyze laws, regulations, and policies (US, Mexico, Texas, etc.) and explain what they mean in plain English.

Research industries (e.g., food procurement, logistics, EV/battery supply chain, nearshoring to Mexico).

Summarize complex articles, reports, and official documents.

Structured memos & analysis

Use a provided research playbook to write clear, structured memos:

Map the system (who are the players, what are the flows).

Separate facts vs assumptions.

Do 2–4 “deep dives” on the most critical points.

Include comparisons, numbers, and “so what for us” recommendations.

Light executive support

Keep research organized in Notion/Google Drive.

Create simple tables, summaries, and checklists.

Occasionally prepare short slide summaries (Google Slides/PowerPoint).

What I’m Looking For

Location: Based in the Philippines, comfortable working mostly remote & async.

Excellent written English. You should be able to explain complex ideas simply and clearly.

Strong research skills.

Comfortable reading government websites, regulations, and technical articles.

Know how to cross-check information and cite sources.

Analytical mindset.

You enjoy asking: “How does this system actually work?” and “What does this mean for the business?”

Organized and structured.

You like frameworks, checklists, and step-by-step thinking.

Tools you should be comfortable with (or quick to learn):

Google Docs / Sheets / Slides

Notion (or similar knowledge tools)

Basic use of AI tools (like ChatGPT) as a research assistant, with your own judgment on top.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Background in law, policy, economics, business, or data analysis.

Experience working with US or international clients.

Experience in K-12 education, food/agriculture, supply chain, or compliance is a plus but not necessary.

Work Setup & Hours

Fully remote.

Mostly project-based with agreed deliverables and timelines.

Core overlap of at least 2–3 hours per day with US Central Time is preferred, but most work can be done async.

How to Apply

Please send:

Your CV / resume.

A short writing sample (any research summary, memo, or analysis you’ve done, 1–3 pages).

A brief note (5–10 sentences) answering:

“Tell me about a time you had to understand a complex topic and explain it simply.”

Subject line: EA Research Specialist – [Your Name]

Looking forward to meeting someone who loves research, structure, and turning complexity into clarity.
