JOB OVERVIEW

Role Overview
The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for building the data science function from the ground up. This role blends hands-on data modeling with strategic leadership, ensuring The Code delivers best-in-class analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions for our clients.
This is both a builder and leader role: you’ll design the infrastructure, set best practices, and eventually build and manage a growing team of data scientists and analysts. You will also serve as a knowledge leader on “vibe coding” tools — helping the team and clients maximize lightweight, cost-efficient platforms that reduce compute costs while speeding up delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy & Infrastructure
Design the overall data science roadmap aligned with The Code’s product and client goals.
Establish scalable frameworks for handling structured/unstructured data across multiple sources (social, CRM, web, customer feedback).
Oversee data pipeline development, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and security.
Modeling & Analytics
Build predictive models for customer behavior, segmentation, and retention.
Develop attribution and ROI models for marketing and social campaigns.
Leverage AI/ML to enhance customer journey mapping and personalization.
Translate raw data into visual insights for client-facing dashboards and presentations.
Vibe Coding & Optimization
Implement and teach low/no-code data science platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Knime, Dataiku, RapidMiner, AI-assisted automation tools).
Standardize internal workflows on these platforms to cut compute time, reduce expenses, and accelerate delivery.
Train internal tea ---------- mbers and clients on maximizing these platforms for real-world applications.
Client-Facing Leadership
Partner with strategy leads to develop data-driven marketing and business recommendations.
Present insights to executive stakeholders in clear, compelling narratives.
Serve as the technical voice in client pitches and strategic workshops.
Team Development & Leadership
Establish best practices, coding standards, and reproducible research pipelines.
Mentor junior data staff and shape a high-performing data team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, marketers, and product strategists.

Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in applied data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead role.
Expertise in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
Strong experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Demonstrated success integrating social media, CRM, and ecommerce data sources.
Proven track record of using and training teams on vibe coding / low-code tools for data science and analytics.
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

To Apply:
Please submit a 1-2 minute recording answering the following questions:
1. Why do you want to be a part of our team?
2. What are your best skills that you can offer to the team?
3. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
