Position Summary:
The Dental Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of dental insurance processing to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the practice through efficient claims management, payment posting, and communication with patients and insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
Post recurring payments accurately and reconcile patient accounts.
Review Remote Lite for rejected claims and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Follow up on 2-week post-op claims daily to ensure timely payment processing.
Work the 60/90-day aging report to address outstanding claims and overdue balances.
Scan Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and attach payments to the corresponding patient records.
Distribute pre-authorizations (Preds) to treatment coordinators efficiently.
Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage details prior to treatment.
Prepare and submit insurance claims, ensuring all procedures and documentation are accurate.
Monitor and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, including appeals when necessary.
Communicate effectively with patients and treatment coordinators regarding insurance coverage, estimates, and balances.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; dental billing or office administration certification preferred.
1–2 years of experience in a dental office setting with a focus on insurance coordination or billing.
Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix).
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedure codes (CDT), and insurance claim processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
