QA Automation Engineer

SteelX is an Australian engineering company selling steel building kits direct to market. Our in-house dev team values inclusion, clear communication, and ongoing skills development.

We’re looking for a detail-driven QA Automation Tester to join our offshore team and work closely with our in-house developers and Senior QA Engineer (Brisbane time zone, GMT+10). Your primary focus will be building and maintaining a comprehensive suite of automated tests using Playwright, while supporting this with smart, exploratory manual testing to ensure reliable, high-quality software.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in QA automation and manual testing roles.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated test frameworks.
- Strong working knowledge of Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or other modern browser testing frameworks.
- Practical experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure Pipelines.
- Experience working in an agile environment (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, regression cycles).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools for test management and tracking.
- Exposure to GenAI-based testing tools is an advantage.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or equivalent formal testing training) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal business communication skills, including clear documentation of tests and processes.
- Genuine interest in understanding our product and the business concepts it represents.

Compensation & Work Setup
• Full-time, long-term position (40 hours per week)
• Contract Agreement renews every 6 months or yearly after passing probation period
• Remote – work from anywhere in the Philippines
• Flexible schedule aligned roughly with Australian business hours (AEST)
• Competitive salary: PHP 50,000 - 80,000 (depending on experience)
