About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Recruitment Specialist to join our team in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the construction industry’s workforce requirements and a proven ability to attract, assess, and onboard skilled tradespeople, engineers, project managers, and other construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for construction roles — from job posting and sourcing to interviewing and onboarding.
Partner with site managers, project directors, and HR to identify staffing needs for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for skilled trades, technical, and management positions.
Use various recruitment channels including job boards, LinkedIn, trade schools, recruitment agencies, and social media.
Screen, interview, and shortlist candidates based on skills, experience, and project suitability.
Coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, and prepare job offers.
Maintain accurate recruitment records and metrics in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
Promote employer branding and ensure a positive candidate experience.
Stay updated on construction industry trends, labor laws, and salary benchmarks.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of recruitment experience, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
Strong understanding of construction job roles (e.g., estimators, site supervisors, electricians, carpenters, quantity surveyors).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple vacancies under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with ATS software and recruitment analytics tools.
Knowledge of labor compliance and health & safety requirements in construction is an asset.
Preferred Skills:
Experience recruiting for large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects.
Established network within the construction trade workforce.
Certification in recruitment or HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, or similar).
