Hi,
I am a business founder launching a new financial education company. I am looking for an expert video editor for a 1-2 week full-time "sprint" to build my sales funnel.
I have high-quality equipment (4K camera, professional microphone, lighting), so you will get clean raw footage.
However, I have zero knowledge of video editing or even creating videos. I am an expert in my field (financial security), but I am a complete beginner at this. I don't know the best way to film, what angles to use, or how to turn my raw footage into a high-converting sales video.
I am not just looking for a technician; I am looking for a strategic partner who can guide me through this process.
The Project & Deliverables:
This is a 1-2 week full-time contract.
Week 1 (Priority #1: The Sales Funnel):
Video Sales Letter (VSL): Edit our primary 5-10 minute VSL. I will provide a video of me speaking, plus a separate high-quality audio file and my Canva slides. We will work together to create a few different versions (drafts) until we get a high-impact final cut.
Facebook
Week 2 (Priority #2: The Course Content):
After the sales funnel is live, I will record the first modules of the course. Your job in Week 2 will be to edit this raw 4K footage (~1-2 hours) into clean, professional, and easy-to-watch video lessons.
Compensation & Terms:
Pay: $200 - $400 USD per week, depending on your skill, portfolio, and the quality of your answers below.
Schedule: This is a full-time (40 hours/week) contract.
No Time Tracking: This is a fixed weekly rate. I only care about the quality of the final product and meeting our deadlines.
Future Work: If this launch is successful, there is a very strong possibility of ongoing weekly part-time or full-time work as we create more content for YouTube and future ads.
Hiring Process:
I am looking to hire someone by this Monday, November 10th. I will be reviewing applications all weekend.
The "Technical Assessment" questions below must be answered in a short video. This video is your interview. Based on your portfolio and the quality of your video answers, I will hire someone immediately.
MANDATORY APPLICATION QUESTIONS
To apply, you MUST provide the following in your cover letter:
1. Your Portfolio:
Please provide 3 links to your best examples of:
(a) A Video Sales Letter (VSL) you have edited.
(b) A direct-response
(c) A professional online course or YouTube video you have edited.
2. Your Video Interview (MANDATORY):
Please record a short video (2-5 minutes is fine) of yourself answering the two technical questions below. You can use Loom, YouTube (unlisted), Google Drive, or any other link-sharing service.
Please paste the link to your video at the top of your application.
Video Question 1 (Your Editing Process):
Imagine I give you a 10-minute, 4K video of me speaking to the camera, plus a separate audio file. This video is for a VSL to sell my course. It's just a "boring" raw file. What is your exact editing process to turn my "boring" video into a great VSL that keeps the viewer engaged?
(I am looking for specific techniques: "dynamic text callouts," "strategic 'punch zooms'," "sound effects," "sourcing B-roll to illustrate points," "progress bars," "animated transitions," etc. Please be detailed.)
Video Question 2 (Your Strategic Guidance):
As I've said, I am a complete beginner at creating videos. Before I even press 'record,' what advice would you give me to make your job easier and the final video better?
(This is the most important question. I need a partner who can guide me. For example: "Samuel, you should record from two different camera angles," or "Make sure you use your hand gestures in this way," or "Pause for 2 seconds between key sentences.")
Thank you for taking the time to apply. I am moving very fast on this project
