Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Market Research Analyst to support our real estate development team. The role will focus on conducting market research, performing data-driven analysis, and building Excel-based financial and development models for residential and multifamily projects, particularly within the Bay Area (California, US).
This position is ideal for candidates with strong quantitative and analytical backgrounds who are passionate about real estate development and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market and economic research to support residential and multifamily development strategies.
- Analyze demographic, economic, and housing data to assess market trends, demand, and feasibility.
- Build and maintain Excel-based development models, including project feasibility, cash flow, and sensitivity analyses.
- Support site selection and acquisition decisions with data-driven insights and financial models.
- Track competitor projects, pricing, absorption rates, and pipeline supply using reputable data sources (CBRE, Colliers, JLL, CoStar, etc.).
- Prepare market summaries and research reports for management and investors.
- Collaborate closely with the development, finance, and acquisitions teams to ensure research findings align with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
- 2–4 years of experience in real estate market research, financial modeling, or development analysis.
- Solid understanding of real estate fundamentals and residential development economics.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly through charts, tables, and written summaries.
- Familiarity with Bay Area housing and multifamily markets is a strong plus.
- Experience with industry research tools (CBRE, JLL, Colliers, CoStar) is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Required to follow 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Standard Time
