FULL-TIME VIDEO EDITOR – REMOTE (WE USE FINAL CUT PRO ONLY)
**Only apply if looking for LONG-TERM WORK!!! DO NOT apply for gig or part-time work**
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Starting: Competitive monthly rate (based on experience and portfolio)
- Long-term: Room to grow as we expand
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
We create content for service-based businesses across multiple industries. Our video work includes:
- Cinematic real estate content
- Talking head videos for YouTube and social media
- Branded content across various industries
Trend-aware content is essential to what we do. The landscape changes constantly—what worked last quarter may not work today. We need someone who understands what's performing right now and can adapt quickly. Real estate videos need to feel current and eye-catching. Social content needs to stop the scroll. This means staying on top of trends and knowing how to apply effects and motion graphics that enhance the story.
We need a video editor who can deliver high-quality work across different formats from day one, and who is eager to learn and grow with emerging tools and techniques.
GENERATIVE AI IS PART OF THE JOB
You should already be using generative AI in your work—Runway, Midjourney, Pika, Luma, AI video tools, whatever creates realistic results. We need someone who understands how to integrate AI-generated video and imagery seamlessly so it enhances the story without looking artificial or out of place.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
This role has two primary areas of focus:
1. Video Editing (Primary Focus – 80% of your time)
You'll create:
- Cinematic real estate videos – property tours that are trendy and engaging
- Talking head videos with captions – educational and branded content for YouTube and social platforms
- Short-form social content – reels, shorts, and clips optimized for each platform
- Supporting graphics – titles, lower thirds, animations, and branded elements
You must be proficient in Final Cut Pro and ready to produce quality videos from week one. This is non-negotiable.
You must be willing and able to learn effects work using Final Cut Pro and Motion. We'll support your learning, but you need to be motivated to develop these skills.
We're looking for someone who:
- Can deliver a cinematic real estate video next week
- Can deliver a talking head video with captions next week
- Stays current with video trends in real estate and social media marketing
- Can work with music, transitions, color grading, and motion graphics
- Takes direction well and delivers quality work consistently
- Is excited to learn new effects and techniques
2. Real Estate Photo Editing & Upload (Secondary – 20% of your time)
Every morning between 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM EST, you'll:
- Edit and finalize real estate photos using Lightroom or Photoshop
- Upload completed media to client delivery systems
- Track deliveries and confirm completion
This is time-sensitive work. Clients expect their media first thing in the morning.
ROLE FLEXIBILITY
While video editing is your primary focus, this role requires flexibility. You may be asked to handle related creative tasks such as:
- Thumbnail design for YouTube videos
- Additional photo editing beyond the morning real estate uploads
- Creating systems to keep our content organized and workflows efficient
- Other creative support that helps our content production run smoothly
We're looking for someone who sees these tasks as part of the bigger picture, not distractions from the "real work." If you're rigid about only doing one type of task, this isn't the right fit.

HOW TO APPLY
Send a message with the subject line:
"Video Editor: I'm Ready" + A Short Video Introduction
Your video introduction should:
- Be 1–2 minutes long
- You must start with "Hi Allie" and then introduce yourself
- Tell us who you are and why you're interested in this role
- Show your personality
In addition, answer these 5 questions:
1. Why are you a strong fit for this role? What interests you about video editing and storytelling?
2. What is your current work setup? (Include: internet speed, computer specs, workspace description)
3. How do you stay reliable when things go wrong? (Power outages, internet issues, technical problems—how do you handle it?)
4. Share your portfolio. We want to see:
- 2–3 real estate videos (if available)
- 2–3 talking head or YouTube videos
- Any motion graphics or creative work you've done
- Examples of trend-aware or trendy content you've created
5. Where do you want to grow in the next 6–12 months? What skills or creative areas do you want to develop?
6. What's a video editing trend from the last 3 months that you've been seeing everywhere? Have you used it?
7. Show us a piece of content (any platform) that made you stop scrolling recently. What made it work?
8. What editing techniques or styles do you think are about to be overdone? What's coming next?
9. Share an example where you used generative AI (video or image) in a project. What tool did you use and how did you integrate it seamlessly?
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
If your application stands out, you'll move to the next stage:
Next Stage: Creative Task & Screen Recording
You'll receive a creative task that involves editing short video clips (about 30 seconds each) in different styles. Here's what we need:
- Screen record your editing process while you work on the task
- Narrate your thought process as you edit (audio must be included in the screen recording)
- Show us how you approach the work, make decisions, and solve problems
This helps us understand not just what you can create, but how you think and work. You'll need to be able to screen record with audio simultaneously.
Final interviews will be conducted on Zoom.
